North Arkansas Kennel Club is an
All
Breed and Obedience AKC Kennel Club incorporated in
1992.
The North Arkansas Kennel Club, Inc. was founded in
June 1990, by founding members, Sherry Gibbany, Pat
Falvey (Looper), Betty Bezek, and Dr Tammy Jones,
DVM. In March 1993, our club was granted permission
by the American Kennel Club to hold sanctioned B/OB
matches. In 1999, we were granted permission to hold
our first point show on April 22 and 23, 2000.
Our Purpose:
AKC is a
non-profit organization devoted to the advancement
and welfare of purebred dogs and the sport of dogs.
NAKC is concerned with good breeding practices,
proper care of dogs and maintenance of purebred
dogs. NAKC promotes educational programs through
schools, training classes, shows and other club
activities. NAKC members actively show their dogs in
conformation, obedience, field trials, agility, and
other AKC events.
Our Mission:
To further
the advancement of purebred dogs.
To do all in
its power to protect and advance the interest of all
breeds of purebred dogs and to encourage
sportsmanlike competition at dogs shows and
obedience trails. To conduct sanctioned matches,
dogs shows and obedience trials under the rules of
the American Kennel Club.
Area Served:
We
cover a large area of Central Northern Arkansas. Counties
include Baxter, Boone, Fulton, Izard,
Marion, Newton, Searcy and Stone counties, but we
also have members from other counties and from
southern Missouri.
