As part of a sixth grade science project on purebred dogs, club members took their dogs to Pinkston Middle School in Mountain Home to meet with approximately 200 sixth graders.

Dogs at School Betsie Czeschin took two of her Welsh Springers, Molly and Sarah; and Leda Thompson took her Cardigan Welsh Corgis, Rocco, Jolee and Sammy. They were joined by Debbie Love and her Irish Wolfhound, Katie and Estella Tullgren. The students learned about the history and function of each breed and how their structure enables them to perform their jobs. They also had the opportunity to meet and pet the dogs and ask questions of the handlers. All the dogs demonstrated confident, calm, well socialized behavior and were good ambassadors for the club and for their breed.

This is the third year the dogs have gone to school. We are very thankful to teachers Lynn Kelsh and Charlotte Stroud for inviting us to participate.

Yellville Turkey Trot October 9 & 10th.

Turky Trot- Norma & TinyTurkey Trot in Yellville, AR over October 9 & 10th was a great time even if the weather didn't cooperate with us this year. Thursday evening Howard Gibbany brought all the equipment and supplies we needed and we stored them in my office as the weather was to get worse. It did - several tents were destroyed Thursday night. On Friday we waited until the last moment to set up. Bambi brought a huge tarp to put over the top of the two tents to keep the rain off. It worked perfectly! We sold out of cookies by noon on Saturday and we had to quit "selling" to keep them that long. Thanks to everyone that helped out at the booth, brought dogs and talked to the hundreds of people that stopped by, and to Norma for the cookies you brought on Saturday And we still ran out! Adults and children alike loved petting all of our different breeds of dogs and watching them perform. As Toby, my obedience dachshund, doesn't do cold ground we could do obedience on the tables and people could see them better! Food was great and plenty off it with all the booths. Cj L Titus

Harrison's Harvest Homecoming Oct 16, 17 & 18th

Harvest HomecomingI would like to thank all of you who helped with the booth it was a very cold 2 days we did not stay for Sunday because it was too cold and there wasn't going to be very many people out. A lot of other vendors also closed down and were gone before we were.

I would like to thank Norma Smart, Barbara Wright and Sharon Pierce for braving the cold as long as they did on Friday afternoon. The organizer came by and said we could shut down about 5:30, so we were out of there by 6:00. Yesterday, Gordon and his two puppies came at 8:00 and Howard was there for awhile. Rhonda and Makasha Ludwig braved the cold yesterday afternoon for as long as they could. George and Mary (mom) McKay came down and helped tear down the booth. Local children from the Sunday School Classes of The First Christian in Harrison made the dog biscuits for the event.

A big THANK YOU TO YOU ALL. See you at the meeting Thursday.
