NAKC believes it is the responsibility of all dog owners to stay alert and work within their communities to prevent anti-dog laws and actions.

While the NAKC is vigilant in staying updated on ongoing legislation and activities that are detrimental to the ownership of dogs and the prevention of AKC events, we believe all dog owners need to be proactive in this cause. To stay informed, please sign up for AKC newsletters in the following links, and  of important topics to us in the dog community.

Responsible Owners of Arkansas Dogs Organization

ROADS is a not for profit group. Our supporters include pure-bred, rare breed, mixed breed owners, breeders, trainers, exhibitors, breed clubs, obedience clubs, and even people who don't own dogs, but are sympathetic to the right to keep and own dogs responsibly. Homeowners' Insurance Resource Center

Did you know that in most states it is legal for insurance companies to charge homeowners higher premiums or refuse to renew a policy based solely on the owner's breed of dog? Surprising as it may sound, more and more dog owners are being told they will be dropped by their insurance carrier if they refuse to give up their dog, even if they are long-time customers and their dog has never bitten or attacked anyone.

So what's a responsible dog owner to do? The Canine Legislation department has compiled the following resources to assist you in your efforts to find insurance. Click here to find more information.
