Message from the President
Gas Prices!
As most of you know by now our entries for our conformation show are way down. It seems that many people are not traveling very far with the talk of gas prices going over $4 and we have seen our local gas prices rise in the past couple of weeks. In spite of the numbers, let’s make it a good show! We need all members to smile and to greet the exhibitors and spectators with a “thanks for coming and glad you could make it!”
On a good note, it looks like we will make a good profit at the May Agility Trial. Sherry still needs helpers for it, plan on signing up for a job at our April meeting.
See you all at the show.

Obedience/Rally
Practice: Tuesday nights will not be available for
rally obedience “free time” practice until May
because of the formal Therapy Dog Class and Novice
Agility Class 8-week classes. Starting March 14
(Wednesday), we will do our free practices in the
back fence area of Petpalooza starting at 6:15. To
avoid getting in the way of their customers and
their dogs when they are picked up, club members can
come in through the left side gate and won't need to
go into the office. If it is lightly raining
and we still want to practice we can work out under
the canopy over the outside kennels. C.J. & myself
will go over a few minutes early to get the yard
access from Courtney, Carrie or Cecilia and be
responsible for locking up after we are done
practicing. They have been setting up a large water
bucket and pooper scooper setup for our use.
This gives our club members a large free place
to work your dogs with another member calling
heeling patterns, work on different Rally signs,
sits/stays, separation, & socialization.
Also, passing along the information, both Charles
Polacek and Linda Heacock have offered to let us use
their large yards for practice. When the
temperatures start heating up, this will be a great
option for us. One is on the White River and the
other is north in Promise Land, and both areas. And
if anyone has any ideas of other places to meet up,
maybe bring some equipment (I keep all my rally
stuff in the backend of my station wagon) that would
be fun too. The more places we meet at, with the
different experiences for our dogs the better it is
for them and ourselves too!
Any club member
(pending or want to join) is welcome to join us to
work your dogs! Let us know if you are planning on
coming and your dog's level of training. email
cjtitus@nakcharrison.org or call 870-404-1758
and leave a message. Please be sure your dogs are
leashed trained and non-aggressive to people or
other dogs.
Petpallooza, 2490 Highway 5
North, Mountain Home ~ (870) 725-6500 (business
phone)
Driving instructions: coming from
Mountain Home on Hwy 5 N, when you see the
Vegetable/Fruit Stand, Petpallooza is on the left
side of the highway before a sharp corner. Coming
from Lakeview, All About Ice Cream & Mini Golf is on
the right side of Hwy 5, around the corner on the
right side is Petpallooza.
Harrison Area:
Fairgrounds: Conformation 6:30
pm Obedience/rally 6:30pm on Mondays (Updated 4/3/2012) through May. The
obedience/rally will be formal classes work on a
variety of things from perfecting the heeling and
sitting to stays, recalls and work on rally. If
anyone wants to drop in and just work that is fine
too. Dara Wilcox will do the conformation classes.
The classes are in whatever building is
available. Prefer yellow building when available. So
have to play it by ear since we officially are not
reserving the buildings and usually the blue
building in the back is not reserved for anything.
So weather won’t be a factor, but if cold do dress
appropriately. I am available most weekends if
anyone wants to work in obedience/rally or agility.
Just let me know and will see if I am available ~
